Holiday Cocktail Time

As a little present to all of you I have not one but TWO yummy cocktails for this holiday season...wahoo!! Normally I provide a cocktail recipe this time of year to deal with the stress of entertaining. Since this isn't an issue this year with our unwelcome friend (Covid 19), who refuses to pack up and go home, this year's cocktail is to help you forget 2020....or at least try. Let me know if you give them a try.

The Derby - Compliments of my friend Nancy

Place 5 raspberries in the bottom of a cocktail glass then add a shot of simple syrup and a shot of fresh lemon juice and muddle the raspberries gently. Fill the glass with ice and add 2 shots of bourbon (recipe calls for Makers Mark) and fill with ginger beer - stir and enjoy!

The Christ-Moose Vacation (serve in the moose glass from the Vacation Movie for a total Vacation Movie Moment)

- 1/2 oz Bailey's Irish Cream

- 1/2 oz Amaretto

- 1/2 oz Aged Rum

- 1/2 oz Cognac

- 1/2 oz Demerara Sugar Syrup (or brown sugar syrup)

- 1 oz Heavy Cream

Place all items in a shaker that's filled with ice. Shake until chilled and pour into a moose cocktail glass (if possible) and garnish nutmeg on top.

Here's to a Happy and HEALTY New Year - Cheers!
